CHI’s "Third Annual Microarray Data Analysis" conference was recently held September 21-23, at the Wyndham Baltimore Inner Harbor, in Baltimore, Maryland. More than 250 participants gathered for the two day event. The scientific sessions were very well attended, with the energy of the talks very high and the post presentation discussions very informative. The Experimental Design session was very strong this year providing an excellent kick-off to the meeting. Richard Simon, the lead speaker, was noted as one of the top speakers at the meeting. Scientifically, the field of microarray data analysis is maturing. Microarrays continue to produce and enormous ammount of data and are making statistical advancements in scientific research. Immediately following our microarray data analysis conference, CHI held its Second Annual conference "Data Visualization and Interpretation", with its coverage of applications and opportunities to use graphical representation as an extremely effective means of overcoming the volume of data that needs to be analyzed, and to obtain the maximum value from experimental data. This meeting was held concurrently with a newly launched meeting, "Data Integration for the Pharmaceutical Industry", covering well-designed, well-integrated information systems to help facilitate communication between researchers and drive decisions for productive investments.

During all three events, the exhibit and poster session hall was fluid with consistent networking traffic for academics, government and private sector sources to meet and collaborate on the current status and future direction of data analysis, integration and visualization for microarrays.  CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS

Here are just a few 2003 testimonials
I've attended all three Microarray Data Analysis meetings. More than any other, this meeting has become the barometer indicating the speed with which the field is progressing. I've noticed that the array manufacturers are taking the comments heard at this meeting very seriously. The earlier meetings tended to focus on methods for improving the actual array data quality. The field has now shifted to the science that can be done with this fairly mature technology. I can't wait to see the talks next year!

Adjunct Professor of Biostatistics, ASU

The content of the talks , the networking atmosphere and the arrangements are worth the time, effort and money of any microarray data analyzer. I learned so much from this meeting. It is a success!
