Held immediately following the
Fifth Annual BioMEMS and Nanotech World,
August 16-17, 2004
Overview
Biodefense research is aimed at
understanding the organisms that might be used as agents of
bioterrorism and how the human immune system responds to those
organisms. This year's biodefense conference will focus on the
development of novel integrated hand-held biosensors,
single-molecule detection of pathogens, and advances in vaccine
therapy against pathogens and emerging infectious diseases. The
vast amount of funding in this area promises to benefit human
health and ensure preparedness.
