BioImage New Product Announcement
CHI High Content Analysis 2006
San Francisco, January 31 – February 3, 2006
Submitted to CHI, January 17, 2006
BioImage Redistribution® Assays for GPCR Internalization and Activation
BioImage introduces cell based functional assays for G protein-coupled receptor
(GPCR) signaling to complement its recently introduced Redistribution® assays for GPCR internalization. These new functional assays report activity for
Gq-, Gi- and Gs- coupled GPCRs by monitoring activation of downstream signaling pathways, such as nuclear factor of activated T cells
(NFAT) or protein kinase A (PKA).

Cellomics is pleased to announce the following new products and solutions for scientists utilizing HCS tools. Demonstrations of each of these solutions will be available at the HCA conference. Please stop by Booth's 1, 2 for more information.
New solutions for Oncology focus on in vitro measurements of Angiogenesis
Angiogenesis, or the formation of new blood vessels, is an important process that plays a significant role in several diseases, especially cancer. The new Tube Formation BioApplication for Cellomics® HCS Readers is a validated high-content assay for screening drugs or conditions that inhibit angiogenesis.
Solutions for Live Cell Kinetic Analysis make the ArrayScan® VTI HCS Reader even more flexible
Cellomics has further extended the capability of our market-leading HCS platform with the addition of the Live module for the ArrayScan VTI HCS Reader (VTI). The LIVE module adds an environmental control chamber to the VTI. Software enhancements provide a full range of kinetic measurements as well as cell tracking.
A New Approach to Neurite Outgrowth Analysis- Neuronal Profiling BioApplication
We are pleased to announce the upcoming release of Neuronal Profiling BioApplication, a totally redesigned image analysis model for neurite outgrowth and neuronal analysis.
New software for High Content Screening offers improved ease of use Cellomics has released several major software enhancements this past year that focus on both usability and opening up of our informatics platform.
-
HCi™2005 is our maintenance and support update that adds numerous enhancements to all software applications
-
HCS Gateway™ software is our interface to permit licensed third party readers to use Cellomics' industry leading data management and analysis tools.
-
Image Importer - we have added the ability to read and use most common image formats into the vHCS(tm) Discovery ToolBox software.
-
Solutions for Scanning Slides – SlidePort™ Slide Insert
The SlidePort Slide Insert allows you to image slides on your Cellomics HCS Readers or any instrument that would normally be used
formicroplates.

GE Healthcare launches new IN Cell Analyzer 1000 instrument:
Clear Fluorescence tissue sample images at focal plane on IN Cell Analyzer 1000 from GEHC ( Optical Z-sectioning module for the IN Cell 1000)
GEHC has incorporated an optical Z-sectioning module in IN Cell 1000 to extend the high image quality obtained in cellular assays to imaging of tissue sections.
This new development (a combination of hardware and proprietary software control), restricts imaging to the focal plane of the sample. This will allow researchers to produce 2D and 3D images of fluorescently labelled cellular and tissue samples for analysis. The Optical Z sectioning module will be commercially available from February 2006.
GE Healthcare Launches Ad-A-Gene: Reagents for Rapid and Efficient Adenoviral Delivery of Signaling Pathway Sensors into Target Cells
GE Healthcare launched Ad-A-Gene Vectors, a large range of ready-to-use, validated adenoviral vector gene delivery reagents. The reagents expand the possibilities for lead compound profiling, drug target validation and basic research by enabling the rapid development of transient cell signaling assays. The Ad-A-Gene Vectors provide ready-to-use reagents for simple and efficient delivery of signaling pathway sensors into mammalian cells via viral transduction. GE Healthcare is currently offering more than 50 Ad-A-Gene Vectors, and expects to have expand the range during 2006.
