Dear Colleague:
We are pleased to announce the Pharmaceutical Strategy Series’
Second Annual "Drug Development India: Planning and
Managing Drug Discovery & Development Activities" being
held November 15-16, 2007 at the Park Hyatt Bellevue in
Philadelphia, PA.
The rise of India as a global economy presents great
opportunities for the international pharmaceutical industry and it
has, thus, become the partner of choice for industry
collaborations. In order to minimize the expenses, time and risk
involved in R&D, companies have found an effective solution
and worthy partner in this low-cost region populated by a
highly-skilled drug discovery and development talent pool. In
addition, due to its growing population and expanding middle
class, India presents valuable consumer market opportunities for
biopharmaceutical companies.
Despite these trends and rewards, companies are wary of quality
and infrastructure in India. Additionally, companies want to be
certain their intellectual property and proprietary processes are
protected. Some trepidation is warranted. However, for those
interested in taking advantage of the recent regulatory
improvements, skilled labor, and quality research of the region,
there are methods for overcoming the obstacles.
The special, two-day executive summit will focus on specific
strategies and approaches to navigating the opportunities and
challenges of drug development in India, and we encourage our
delegates to be an active part of the discussions.
