I am pleased to announce production of the Pharmaceutical Strategy Series’ Fifth Annual Strategic Resource Management conference being held November 27-28, 2007 at the Loews in Philadelphia, PA. 

If you are interested in presenting, please click here to submit a suggested title and abstract (three to four sentences or bullet points). Please note that priority for submissions will be given to those from inside pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

Each year the Strategic Resource Management attracts over 100 participants who help lead their organization’s resource management strategy. Our 2007 meeting will build on last year's successful event with novel case studies and perspectives from thought leaders. Key issues to be addressed include: 

• Aligning Portfolio & Productivity with Corporate Strategy to Drive Strategic Resource Allocation 
• Designing Strategic Resource Management Systems Specifically for Pharma R&D 
• Applying Weights to Quantitative and Qualitative Criteria for Improved Decision-Making 
• Managing and Integrating Outsourced Resources into Planning and Execution 
• Creating a Process to Successfully Transfer FTEs Among Projects 
• Building Partnerships Between Project Management, Resource Management, Functional Management, and Finance 

In addition, there is an intensive pre-conference tutorial scheduled for the morning of November 27th. The three-hour session will focus on Strategic Resource Opportunities and Models and how they fit into the overall R&D decision-making process. The workshop will present strategic methods to analyze the tradeoffs of cost, risk and value when reviewing your resource and portfolio opportunities.

Again this year, we will be running the meeting back to back with the second annual meeting focused on Portfolio Management, which takes place November 28-29. Both meetings will come together for a plenary session on the afternoon of November 28th creating a three-day event (Nov. 27-29) covering the topics most important to you.
