Tools and Metrics Congress - Day 1


 

The Inaugural Tools and Metrics Congress will be co-located with the Sixth Annual Alliance Management Congress.
Tools and Metrics Congress will delve into the nitty-gritty of tracking and measuring progress and the health of alliances, collaborations, project management, and business development activities. The agenda will include plenary sessions and interactive discussion groups. Both meetings will come together for a plenary session on the afternoon of April 23 creating a three-day event (April 22-24) covering the topics most important to you.

In an age of accountability, quantifying the value of alliances is important on two levels. First, senior executives need to assess business activities and measure performance. Second, alliance managers can use metrics to identify areas for improvement and work to refine processes and optimize performance. In this session, we will share an example from outside the Life Sciences industry of an organization that has built and implemented an alliance metrics regime that has consistent metrics to measure and monitor alliances across its alliance portfolio.

As alliance teams work together in establishing metrics, a component most overlooked is how personalities play into these metrics.  Most often, information is used to drive metrics. Personalities of individuals can actual influence how and what metrics are created and which are used.  This talk will explore how both personalities and metrics relate and how both can be used in establishing meaningful metrics.

To get the most out of this interactive session and new format, please come prepared to ask questions and share problems and examples from your work.

The Inaugural Tools and Metrics Congress will be co-located with the Sixth Annual Alliance Management Congress. The Sixth Annual Alliance Management Congress continues to be one of the largest, most prestigious annual conferences in North America for Vice Presidents, Department Heads, Directors, and Managers of Alliance Management and Business Development from biotech and pharmaceutical organizations.

The 2009 Congress will include novel case studies, strategies, and techniques from thought leaders who have real-world perspectives to share. Per your feedback
and suggestions, the Congress will now be designed as a two track program. The
first track will offer talks on “advanced concepts” for those working in alliance management for more than five years. The second track will offer talks on “fundamental concepts” for those working in alliance management less than five years. Each talk will teach a concept and describe how an organization has successfully implemented it. The interactive discussion groups that take place after a series of talks will be working sessions. Attendees will discuss the concepts heard in more detail and learn how to apply them within your organization.
