Next-generation sequencing (NGS) has expanded our fundamental understanding of genomics, mutation, gene function and regulation, by delivering fast, precise, and large volumes of data. As the cost of sequencing declines, use in academic, biotech, medical, pharmaceutical, and ag-bio expands, paving the way for the creation of innovative new areas for bioresearch. Still, the question remains of how best to balance cost, quantity and quality when choosing a sequencing platform or service. Cambridge Healthtech Institute's Applying Next-Generation Sequencing investigates the expanding applications of NGS. Learn from experienced researchers from large sequencing centers, core laboratories, and specialized groups as they share their practical knowledge, real-world experiences and solutions.
We are presently accepting proposals for consideration on the following topics:
Practical Aspects of Managing a NGS Laboratory
- Maximizing Resources
- Workflow
- Efficient Experimental Design
Improving Production
- Sequence Capture
- Target Enrichment
- Scale-Up
- Higher Throughput
- Standards
- Quality Control
- Read Lengths

Researchers working with technical developments driving this field or researchers applying discovery research are encouraged to submit a title and brief summary of their research for consideration of presentation. Please note that due to limited speaking slots, preference is given to abstracts from those within pharmaceutical and biotech companies, regulators and those from academic centers. Additionally, as per CHI policy, a select number of vendors/consultants who provide products and services to these biopharmaceutical researchers are offered opportunities for podium presentation slots based on a variety of Corporate Sponsorships.
Scientists who wish to present their knowledge and expertise to their colleagues are asked to submit an abstract.
All proposals are subject to review by the Scientific Advisory Committee to ensure the highest quality of the conference program.
If you are interested in presenting, please click here to submit a speaking proposal for review.
Deadline for priority consideration: February 15, 2012
