BIOMEDICAL CONFERENCE
DIRECTOR
(full-time position)
Cambridge Healthtech
Institute (CHI) is seeking a Biomedical Conference Director, who creates
conferences on key issues related to challenges in drug discovery and
development. The director identifies the best people worldwide – mainly,
specialists from the academic, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors -
who can provide presentations that address these key issues, and then
convinces them to speak at our conferences. While creating each conference
agenda, the director works with other departments to develop sponsor and
exhibitor prospects, and to position the conference to attract an audience
from leading pharma, biotech and academic centers. The position involves
frequent email and phone communication, principally with scientific Advisory
Board members and conference speakers, and some public speaking.
This demanding position
requires a background and/or degree in a scientific field, and a strong
knowledge of the biotech and pharma industries. The ideal candidate
possesses good analytical skills, exceptional creativity, a devotion to
deadlines, and excellent communication skills. To excel in this position
you must be a self-starter who is undaunted by constant multi-tasking.
Travel to conferences is required.

Conference Meeting Planner
(full-time position)
Cambridge Healthtech Institute (CHI), a 90 + employee, biotech conference and publishing company, is seeking an extremely organized and detail-oriented meeting planner. The meeting planner will plan the operational logistics of and travel to 2 conferences/trade shows monthly. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, vendor negotiations; budgeting and cost control; coordinating rooming lists, food and beverage, special events, audio visual, and exhibit services; and onsite management, including registration and other logistics. Frequent domestic travel is required. Ideal candidate must have at least 3 year’s experience as a meeting planner and be proficient in Word and Excel.

FROM THE ROUTE 128 SOUTH EXIT OFF THE MASSACHUSETTS TURNPIKE (EAST OR WEST):
Once on Rte. 128 South, take exit 19A: Highland Avenue/Newton Highlands. The offramp curves around to the right – you can only go to the right (onto Highland Avenue) off the exit. Cross back over 128. You will immediately see a street with the Ground Round and Mighty Subs on the corners. This is First Avenue. Take this right onto First Avenue. 250 First Avenue is 0.2 miles farther down the street, a couple of buildings past Catz training center. There is visitor parking in front or in back of the building. Once in the building, take the elevator or stairs to the 3rd floor, suite 300.
FROM BOSTON & POINTS EAST:
Get onto the Massachusetts Turnpike (Mass Pike) WEST.
You will reach a tollbooth plaza with an exit that leads to 128/95 South, Wellesley, Newton, etc.
The road forks just before the plaza - take the RIGHT fork, which leads to the Route 128/95 South exit.(Cost of the toll: $1.00) After the tollbooth, the road forks again – take the RIGHT fork. Follow signs to get onto Route 128/95 South. Follow directions above from Route 128 South.
FROM BOSTON LOGAN AIRPORT
From the car rental lot, follow signs for airport exit. As you approach the airport exit, follow the signs for Ted Williams Tunnel/Mass Pike. You will arrive at a tollbooth for the Ted Williams Tunnel (T.W. Tunnel).
(Cost of Tunnel: $3.00).
Once in the T.W. Tunnel, follow signs to the Mass Pike. As you approach the toll plaza for the Mass Pike the road forks with two tollbooth exits – take the LEFT fork, (cost of the toll: $1.00), which is the entrance for the Mass Pike WEST. Follow directions above from the Massachusetts Turnpike (Mass Pike) WEST.
