IBM Algorithm Finds Data Anomalies



March 1, 2010 | IBM researchers have announced a new algorithm to help researchers look for irregular relations between data at about 100 times the speed while maintaining the same level of accuracy. "It allows you to do things on a laptop that you used to have to do on a mainframe," said Costas Bekas, and IBM researcher. IBM plans to employ the anomaly-finding algorithm in its so-called "smart infrastructure" projects for 2010. Forbes.
