Irvin MettlerIrvin Mettler is currently an Associate Director at UC Berkeley’s Office of Technology Licensing with a focus on life science technologies, Biofuel initiatives, management of patent prosecution, and license negotiation. Prior to joining UCB he had over 20 years of experience in agricultural biotechnology research, development, and consulting on patent litigations. Irvin was Director of Worldwide Biotechnology for Seminis Vegetable Seeds, Inc. and Head of Biotechnology for Northrup King Co. He played a key role in the development of one of the first transgenic corn products (BT11). Irvin holds a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology from UC Riverside and a BS and MS in Plant Physiology from UC Davis.
