Protein Aggregation and Emerging Analytical Tools
Mechanism, Prediction, Screening, Immunogenicity and Formulation Challenges
January 12-13, 2017 | Hilton San Diego Bayfront | San Diego, CA

The popular Protein Aggregation and Emerging Analytical Tools conference covers latest trends, challenges and solutions in understanding, characterization and mitigation of problems generated by protein aggregation. It features in-depth case studies, new and unpublished data and interactive discussions on mechanisms of aggregation, new tools for detection and quantitation of aggregates, and how the data is used in regulatory filings. It also discusses mechanistic understanding of protein aggregation and present case studies on prevention of particle formation by engineering and formulation approaches, impact of aggregation on production, aggregates as a factor for immunogenicity, and approaches for improvement of biophysical properties of protein solutions. We are looking for cutting-edge research findings and unpublished data to be featured at this forum.

We invite you to submit a proposal, present a poster and attend to join colleagues from around the world in this discussion of the key challenges and solutions in protein aggregation in biotherapeutics.

We invite presentation proposals on the following preliminary topics:

  • Mechanistic understanding and prediction of protein aggregation, especially for new therapeutic modalities
  • Protein aggregation and degradation routes in high-concentration protein formulations
  • Preventive and analytical approaches for reduction and removal of aggregates
  • Design of aggregation-resistant biotherapeutics: Ligand interactions that promote protein stability and prevent aggregation
  • Formulation, process and manufacturing strategies to prevent and/or overcome aggregation challenges in early and late stage development
  • Formation and characterization of aggregates during process/manufacturing
  • Aggregation and viscosity challenges in fill finish processes: Protein aggregates clogging the filter, filter validation studies, ultrafiltration/diafiltration (UF/DF)
  • Rapid and high-throughput tools for prediction and measurement of aggregation, viscosity and solubility
  • New analytical tools: Development, qualification, and implementation analytical tools for studying protein structure and dynamics as related to aggregation
  • Detection and characterization of biological activity of protein aggregates in vivo
  • Immunogenicity of protein therapeutics: Aggregates as an inducing factor? Controlling adverse protein aggregation induction during patient handling and use

Please click here to submit a speaking proposal for review.

Deadline for submission: May 27, 2016

All proposals are subject to review by the Scientific Advisory Committee to ensure the overall quality of the conference program. Please note that due to limited speaking slots, preference will be given to abstracts from those within pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies, regulators and those from academic centers. Additionally, as per CHI policy, a select number of vendors/consultants who provide products and services to these biopharmaceutical companies are offered opportunities for podium presentation slots based on a variety of Corporate Sponsorships.
