Ted Driscoll PhotoTed is currently a Venture Partner at Claremont Creek Ventures, focused on the intersections between Life Science, Web and Information Technology areas.  Previously he was a Special Limited Partner at Novus Ventures, investing in IT software companies.  He is also an active angel investor and founding board member of the Sand Hill Angels, a 50 person angel group on the peninsula, and a member of the Life Science Angels and Silicom Ventures Angel Group.  He has been a serial entrepreneur over the past two decades, having contributed to the founding of five successful companies in imaging related markets.   He founded and led Be Here Technologies as CEO, a pioneer in Internet, Broadcast and Videoconferencing technologies.  He served as Division President and previously as Senior VP / CTO of Diasonics, in its Ultrasound Therapy and Magnetic Resonance Imaging divisions.  At Diasonics MRI he led the team that created and commercialized the first MR scanners. Previously he was Vice President of Engineering at Identix, a pioneer in fingerprint imaging and biometric access control, and Director of R&D at International Imaging Systems, a pioneer in image processing hardware and satellite imaging.  In addition, his patents in ultrasound therapy led to the founding of another company, Therus, now a subsidiary of Boston Scientific.  He holds 40+ granted U.S. patents, with another ~20 pending applications in three different fields. His work has received numerous awards including a Technical Emmy nomination, a Webby Award, and Best of Show at the DEMO and Internet Showcase conferences. He was named one of “Ten to Watch” by Digital Hollywood in 2001. He also serves on several early stage private and public boards.  He earned a PhD from Stanford University in Digital Imaging, two Masters from Harvard University in Computer Graphics and Remote Sensing, and a Bachelors degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
