2:00-5:00 (SC 1) GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR REAL-TIME PCR EXPERIMENTS
Sponsored by
Topics to be addressed in this course include:
- Review of critical assay design parameters
- Optimization of assay performance from experiment set-up to data analysis
- Troubleshooting common problems that impact assay efficiency, reproducibility and sensitivity
Who Should Attend & Why: All levels of PCR users are encouraged to participate and will learn good laboratory practices to help you optimize your real-time PCR assays and effectively troubleshoot your results. This will be an interactive workshop - attendees are encouraged to bring questions, data files and problem examples with them.
Course Instructor: Marwan Alsarraj, Product Manager, Gene Expression Division, Bio Rad Laboratories
5:00 pm Short Course 2 Registration
5:30-8:30 (SC 2) HOW TO DO SUCCESSFUL GENE EXPRESSION ANALYSIS USING REAL-TIME PCR
In this short course, all aspects of the real-time PCR work flow will be covered, including:
- RNA quality control, assay design and validation, selection of stably expressed reference genes, and experiment design
- Data analysis using state-of- the art strategies, methods, and quantification models
- Importing quality controls during the work flow
- Insights into state-of-the art normalization using multiple reference genes, error propagation, and inter-run calibration
- An introduction to biostatistical analysis of gene expression
Who Should Attend & Why: Both the first time real-time PCR user and the seasoned experimenter will learn state-of-the-art strategies, algorithms and validated work flow for real-time PCR gene expression analysis will benefit from this course.
